Decision Meets Action.

One of the most cited reasons for not diving in 100% to sales? "I don't want people to judge me". This isn't a statistic. It's my personal experience with so many of my amazing clients who have abundant gifts to share with the world but who are held back by the 'ole 'What Will People Think' bug.

On Friday night I was teaching a room of yoga teachers and one of them raised her hand to ask me, "How did you know when to trust yourself to take the leap and say you were a business coach? How did you know when you were ready?"

My response was to pull up one of my all-time-favorite quotes and read it aloud for the group:

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you." And yes, I included the God part even though I'm an atheist and here's why I love it so much: because we ARE children of God. I don't care what you believe or if, for you, it's just a stunning metaphor. I believe we are THAT POWERFUL AND BEAUTIFUL and that we are responsible to serve the world with our gifts.

It WILL make people uncomfortable. It WILL cause others to judge. They WILL talk behind your back... "Who does she think she is???"

If that is enough to keep you hidden then I will live in perpetual heartbreak for what could have been.

I see you in your bed reading this and thinking, "Ugh... just more self-help bullsh*t that doesn't really work and doesn't apply to me..." I see you drinking your coffee thinking, "I love this! But that's Meg. That's not me." I see you with your children. With your dogs. With your own mind running errands. You are thinking, "I'm IN IT! Let's DO IT!" and then you'll go back to the day-to-day things that keep your head down instead of up, up, UP where it needs to be if you want to actively create a future that blows your mind.

Wherever you are in your thoughts about it all, you should know that there is one thing (and this is what I told the girl who asked)… ONE THING… that separate those who say “I’m ready now” and those who don’t and that thing is a metaphorical set of balls. BALLS. Ok - let’s call it “FUCK YES I’M DOING IT” instead.

You have to decide you are going to have the audacity to say “I’m doing it” and then you have to get into action.

That’s it.

Decision + action = dreamy results

If your thought life looks like this:

I can’t afford it.

I don’t have time.

I don’t know where to start.

I’m not ready.

Now is the time to change those repeating limited beliefs with:

I will create the money. I’m resourceful, passionate, and hard-working.

I have time for the things I value.

I will find a place to start.

I am willing to be ready even though I’m not.

The first time I made ANY money in my business was 19 months ago and it was $280. Twelve months later it was over $19,000 in one month. After that ceiling was broken I began to generate consistent 5 figure months and still do. The next level for me is a $20,000 month followed by repetitive $20,000+ months and then I’ll continue to do whatever it takes to scale from there. From $280 to five figure months in 1 year is not something that happens by accident. I can promise you that. It’s not like winning the lottery. It requires you to be consistent in sharing your voice with the world again and again and again. It requires you to get better and better at communication… self-coaching, feedback, organization, strategy, systems, risk-taking… all the things! You have to dive in to being a daily student of your business and your endless potential. It’s an insatiable hunger to be better… to serve more… to open your arms wide to the world and be vulnerable.

NONE of this is easy, of course, but it can be made so much easier with support. Hire an assistant. Hire a coach. Speed up the process by investing in your dream. <3
