SUSTAINABILITY COMMITMENTS AND MISSION

We live in a highly imbalanced world when it comes to gender and earnings. Women lag behind men in almost every profession while women work as hard, if not harder. Only 6% of women generate six figures compared to 13% of men. Women are also 35% more likely than men to experience poverty in their lifetime. On the flip side, women are more likely to invest in the health and well being of their families and the communities where they live when they have the money to do so.

At the same time, we are experiencing a global environmental crisis like we’ve never seen before. It’s going to take all actors in society, including businesses, to turn this ship around but there are also massive opportunities for the businesses who figure this out the quickest.

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

Six Figs is a company that empowers women to build thriving, multiple six and seven figure businesses on their own terms that transform the world through the power of commerce. Our services and practices enable women to build positive social foundations and to contribute to the regeneration of the planet while closing the gender gap. We participate in removing the systems that prevent women from fully participating in a socially just world.

SIX FIGS VISION

At Six Figs, our mission is to empower 1,000 women to create multiple six-figure businesses by 2025 while building financial independence for themselves and their families. We want to influence change in the business coaching industry by creating positive benefits for the environment, communities and people through our business practices and the services we provide and teaching our clients to do the same.

MISSION STATEMENT

Society’s challenges cannot be solved by government and nonprofits alone. Businesses must work towards a greater sense of purpose in order to fight the world’s biggest challenges. This includes working towards reduced levels of poverty, a regenerative environment, resilient communities and high-quality employment with purpose as well as creating space in for feminist entrepreneurs at the table.

PURPOSE-DRIVEN

Business can be a vehicle for positive change. We harness the economic and societal power of business to create positive impact for our employees, communities and the environment.

A BUSINESS MOVEMENT

Through our services, practices and profits, we aim to do no harm and benefit all. We are not only focused on profit at Six Figs. We are equally focused on our impact and ability to affect change through our community practices, programs, and services. We believe building gender equality and supporting women’s and LGBTQA+ rights, education and empowerment are critical to business and society.

ZERO HARM

We are a community of entrepreneurs who believe in dismantling systemic racism, white supremacy, colonialism and the patriarchy. We are anti-racist, LGBTQA+ allies, and feminists.

DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION

We affirm the lives of Black, Indigenous, People of Color, queer and trans folks, disabled folks, undocumented folks, folks with records, and women. We actively cultivate a diverse, equitable and inclusive space in our community.

BUILDING AN ANTI-RACIST COMPANY AND COMMUNITY

As a business coaching and consulting company, we use business as a voice for change and we influence others to create transformation through commerce.

INFLUENCING OTHERS

Actively celebrating, re-sharing, and shining a spotlight on BIPOC and LGBTQA+ coaches and businesses on our Instagram stories on a monthly basis so that our social platforms are not solely focused on white coaches and businesses

Paying Six Figs contractors and employees a living wage - our specific commitment is to choose $20 an hour as our “minimum wage” regardless of our countries’ current minimum wage standards that land between $7 and $11 an hour

Offering unlimited, paid, time off to full-time contractors and employees so that they can attend family functions, take necessary sick days, and vacation as well as to promote a supportive work-life balance in line with modern, working, family needs in 2021 and beyond

question + answer

q: Why is this on your website, Meg?
a: Because I am not in business solely for the purpose of profit. Six Figs is a mission-driven organization with a desire to create equality in the world through fair and equitable business practices that support women, the BIPOC communities, and those who are LGBTQA+

Q: Who is your sustainable business consultant?
A: I’m so glad you asked! She is the amazing, Carmen Turner, and you should hire her too!

q: Won’t it alienate some of your current or potential clients who don’t agree with your assessment and your mission and values as outlined above?
A: Yes! Sadly, it most likely will. I’m okay with that. Everyone is welcome at Six Figs as long as they hold the shared belief that “everyone is welcome”.
